Being a Muslim and a lifelong Boston Celtics fan, I admire Enes’ activism and standing up for human rights. However, I am also disappointed in his support and admiration of Israel and his friendship with Jared Kushner. Israel practices apartheid and violates human rights of the Palestinian people. If he truly believes in standing up for justice against human rights violations, he should be consistent and call out Israel and not associate with the likes of Jared Kushner.

This the first time that I have seen the KAREEM.SUBSTACK.COM site. As a supporter of a progressive society and culture, along with being a life-long high school, college and NBA basketball fan, I have the greatest respect for the accomplishments of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar both on and off the basketball court since his days at Power Memorial High School in New York City. I, therefore, look forward to being one of the many beneficiaries of this site knowing this site will maintain the highest standards and contain the most well-informed comments that will address the critical issues of our times. Also, my other connection to this site: I was told many years ago by my neighbor from the South Shore community in Chicago that he was taking an Urban Planning Course at UCLA in the same class with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (then Lewis Alcindor) and I share this academic background as I studied Urban Planning in my undergraduate college at the University of Illinois and my graduate college at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
