Nice to see a professional athlete get noticed for something so positive. It's always the bad boys who get the headlines, but I guess 'twas ever thus. "The evil that men do lives after them; the good is oft interred with their bones".

Thank you Kareem. A shortened NBA season? Oh no. It's hard enough during the summer without all the games. Boo hoo. I jest. It would be better for the players. Their season is so long & shortening it would probably help prevent injuries. There are so many ankle & knee injuries. Constant running, over-extension, twisting, etc., like Jimmy Butler's injury last night . Zach Wilson's gift was kind & remarkable in showing appreciation for a working mother & her son.

Thank you for your words & views. A very Happy & prosperous New Year to you. Best of health & well-being.

And the Bucks totally won. Yay!! Giannis had 31 to KD's 29. Fear the deer (and the Greek brothers as well).

Off topic - but wondering if you could address this topic in a future post. Over the holidays, my parents and I attempted to watch Blazing Saddles. It was a classic in my family growing up, laugh out loud humor. I viewed the racist components of the movie to be "enlightning" and "educational" and Brooks' way of raising awareness. But this time, both my parents (in their 80's and very progressive) and I could not watch more then 30 minutes of it. I would love your insight on these older "groundbreaking" movies and how we should handle them (especially as a parent of teenagers).

I agree with you that the woman soccer player, in resigning rather than wearing a pride month jersey, seems like a close-minded bigot, but her new team apologizing for signing her is not quite the right thing either. We are not the thought police and if she has not actively discriminated against an LGBTQ person, she can think as she likes. I don’t personally agree with her, but that is mighty close to apologizing for someone taking a knee. It’s an action based on a thought that in itself is not hurtful. It does not represent team spirit or the fight for civil rights, but in the end, I wish her new team had simply said nothing.
