Kareem..When I was at UCLA (1 year ahead of you) and almost ran into you in the hall outside of Haines Hall, I went to your games and, as a young man, developed a great admiration for you as an athlete. Now, as an old man, I still follow sports but they no longer possess the "juice" to create heroes...but you still hold that place in my heart, now for your keen intellect and your use of your platform to promote social justice. Keep up the fight.
Okay, Kareem, we've gotten some trade offers for you, but you're safe...we're keeping you and signing you to a lucrative extension.
I can only think of "The Greatest Generation", some of them still among us, and what they endured. As a whole, these people were selfless. Today, it's all about self (I, Me, Mine) and the selfish ego feeding versus doing what's right, come what may.
Sometimes you have to suck $hit through a straw to get the cherry at the top. Sorry to be crass, but it's a message that's lost today in the "microwave generation".
On point as usual Big Fella(I miss Chick. I met him 1st at a LA Thunderbirds game in Ventura as a 9 or 10 year old). As for Golden States owner, he should be shown the door. The NBA stands alone in pro sports as a shining example of what you do with the trash, you take it out. Kareem, I am so thankful for your voice. Since you were a young buck you have been on the right side of issues. Who would have thought that this far down the road, we are still spending time on issues that are nothing but ignorance. Thats as nice as I can put it. We may not get there today, but we are on our way, know that. Thank You, and blessings and good health to you and yours. Dan in Idaho(via SB,Ca) WE LOVE LA, WE LOVE IT, GO RAMS🙏✌️♥️
Values that reflect America? Eric Dickerson? Legendary Rams player whose number is retired by that team, but he's offered "chump change" for his efforts...nosebleed seats for the Super Bowl. Kudos to him for declining the offer. Shame on the Rams organization. Kareem, can you pull any strings for him?
Hello Kareem: Wondering what your thoughts on are the proliferation of betting in sports. I'm particularly uneasy about the coziness between the betting parlors and the various leagues and teams. Thanks.
Hi Kareem. Thank you for your comments. The racism, the total shallowness of people who are wealthy & are seemingly insulated from the world outside their own domain. I just don't get it. How did they get to the place where they don't know if China is a dictatorship or not? It's just appalling. Some people should be given tests to ascertain if they still have a heartbeat. Or a working brain perhaps. Keep on. We need fearless leaders who will always speak the truth!
Kareem, you're wearing the garb, but I was expecting at least a short commentary on the spitting incident at UofA involving Mac Etienne on the UCLA Mens BB team and some reciprocal notion of a code of conduct involving college students and players. UCLA/UofA incidents involving fans go back a long way (e.g., Steve Kerr) and have an ugly history on both sides. I would expect no less this weekend at USC. Where are we now on this? It's bad enough that when I go to NBA games with my family, and even occasionally sit in some pretty good seats, that it goes from G- to R-rated pretty quickly.

What advice would you provide to someone interested in a career similar to your own?
