Women More Likely to Die of Heart Disease Because of Medical Bias, Fox Pundit Thinks Biden Wants to Replace God with Trans Community (Huh?), What I'm Reading, Lesley Gore Sings "You Don't Own Me"
Today was LaDainian Tomlinson....and believe it or not...Charlie Sheen. Corbin Bernsen was there too, but I didn't recognize him until someone said he was leaving. LT was awesome!
The amazing thing about your Substack, Kareem, is that you give us so much but in a balanced way. From inspirational quotes, challenging and/or disturbing news, beautiful music, reviews of books, movies, TV, etc. Unlike so many others, you challenge us to maintain balance. You manage to weave a tapestry of content that is as diverse as it is enriching, pushing us to expand our horizons while reminding us of the importance of keeping our inner equilibrium.
Your newsletter has become a beacon of thoughtful reflection in a sea of endless content, offering a refuge for those of us seeking depth and meaning in what we consume. Your ability to curate a blend of topics that both enlightens and entertains is a rare skill, making each edition a treasure trove of knowledge and insight.
Moreover, your engagement with your readers sets you apart. You don't just broadcast information; you start conversations, encouraging us to think critically and share our own perspectives. This creates a community around your Substack that is both vibrant and supportive, a place where ideas can flourish and individuals feel heard.
In a digital age where the sheer volume of information can be overwhelming, your newsletter serves as a reminder of the value of quality over quantity. You show us that it's possible to stay informed and entertained without sacrificing our mental well-being for the sake of staying up-to-date.
Thank you, Kareem, for the balance you bring into our lives through your work. Your dedication to providing a well-rounded perspective is not only refreshing but necessary in today's world. Keep challenging us, keep inspiring us, and keep doing what you do best.
Hey Kareem, I had the chance to meet both Spud Webb and Dominique Wilkins earlier today, and told them both about your Substack. Dominique seemed aware and sent a shout out to you. I love Spud because we're the same height and age. He was chill, no doubt. Allen Iverson was there too, but I didn't speak with him...though I wanted to bust on him about the size of the statue the 76'ers recently unveiled...what were they thinking?
Thank you, Kareem, for bringing Leslie Gore back, front and center. "You Don't Own Me" is the anthem it always was and will always be. "That's the Way Boys Are" is a serious comment, also, on Patriarchal culture training ignorant (as I was) young boys who want so very hard to be accepted, to project domination over women as the path to belonging.
These dynamics are at the root of our divisions in our society today, and have been for generations over centuries. I watched "Passage To India" last night, and there it all was, The British, and Europian Patriarchy on full display. The upturned noses, neatly trimmed mustaces and gold eppulets.
The perfect cover for their collective shallowness and depravity.
How is the hip, by the way? Take good care of yourself. WE NEED YOU!
Thanks, Kareem, for raising awareness regarding the lack of medical data on women and heart disease. And thanks for your constant support of women's issues. So many women are caught unaware that they were at risk for a cardiac event until it happens. And thanks for the video of the little girl at the concert. What a gift to us all!
This single edition stands out as the most consistently insightful and valuable entry to date, right down to the beautiful video that defies words. I wish you had provided some direction for us to seek a cure/antidote/cause for willful ignorance. Kareem, you are unbelievably only at the beginning of your real legacy.
You are absolutely correct! But, quick to judge without knowing someone's situation. I wrote it very quickly before my Southwest flight took off. No time to proof. 😎
Musk 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Kareem. Wishing you a happy birthday. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Lisa Boothe would get fired from any reputable news organization after such a completely uninformed and ridiculous comment.
Surprisingly, nothing republicans do surprises me.

Thank you Kareem. It is
always a pleasure to read
your posts. Newspapers
today can't compare with the
deeply thought provoking
material you pack into each
of these documents.
The video break was
fantastic. That little girl may
grow up to be a world famous
conductor.
Leslie Gore brings back many
many memories of my teen
years. There was a lot of
good music then and a lot
more on the way. Have a great weekend.
Another great line. “I’m not a journalist, but I play one on TV.”
Your usual multi-faceted newsletter. So appreciate this community.
I like "servant of evil."

Willful blindness is also universal among those who spell their (human as distinguished from spiritual) god, "DON(ald)."
