Yes I am very honored to be a paid subscriber of your work Kareem because you seem to care and believe in what your writing. Your articles are enlightening and real eye openers. This is why I dont mind paying 5 dollars a month to read your content because it's of great substance and helps us become better people as a society. I especially enjoy your popular culture analysis on the different movies, and shows they are very spot on. Please keep it going in writing engaging and enlightening articles that not only is interesting, but make us think and see things in a different light. 😁

BTW Congrats on your nomination no one deserves it more then you Kareem. 😁

If value received is balanced against cost, a subscription to this newsletter is perhaps the best money I’ve spent in years. I’d pay more for the subscription if it cost more, now that I have been receiving the content for a minute. Thank you for all that you do. On a side note, I often read about how you may have been hard to approach during your career. When I was a young teen, I caught you in the tunnel at a Phoenix Suns game, and you happily signed something for me. It was the only time before or since that I ever did something like that. You left me with a smile. The kind of smile that only a young kid’s hero seems to elicit. But that smile pales in comparison with the enlightenment I get from you regularly from your writing. Thank you then, and now. (I have no idea what I did with the autograph. I know EXACTLY where to find what you write.)

I am a writer too for nonprofits, and a White single mother who was molested, impregnated at 9 years old, raped, and my Children’s father beat me for years. He finally was arrested and hasn’t seen his children in 11 years. I hope my small contribution each month helps a little. YOU INSPIRE ME KAREEM DAILY. Your writing is very good. But more important, your messages and appearances on TV ALWAYS make me happy I’m a part of your Team in a little way. Thank you forever!!!

Asking to be paid is a form of respect. It tells your audience that you think what you offer is worthy and leaves it to the audience to agree or not. I fully support people getting paid for their work, including you.

Totally worth the price of subscription if only for the range of topics you’re likely to find!

Writers should be paid for their work. Your assistants should be paid. Your substack is valuable, and I’m proud to subscribe and recommend it to my friends. Wonderful, thoughtful, varied writing. Well worth the small price.

Tell the clowns, who don’t want to pay, to take a hike.

Your whole output is a class act, that would still be good value at 2 or 3 times the price you’re asking.

Keep it up.

I'm thrilled to be able to pay to read your words directly! I've seen you a few times around Los Angeles. I'm always amazed by your incredible sense of presence. Kareem, you are an American treasure!

Just seeing Kareem's name in my email feed and the occasional picture of his smiling face takes me back to my...alright...not childhood but certainly young adulthood. Then, to find out he actually writes amazing articles that I agree with!?!? That happens so rarely these days. Keep up the good work sir. It's worth more than the few dollars a month I subscribe for, but I'm no Scrooge McDuck either!

Congratulations on your well-deserved nomination, Captain. In this too often wicked world your well-worded viewpoints & insights are nothing short of bibliotherapeutic. All best wishes on our shared transgenerational journeys forward toward #FreeingTruthAndReconciliation (ref. John 8:32 & #NelsonMandela).
